Martez Walker Just Wants to Win
Seeing more college coaches take an interest to him comes natural to Martez Walker. In fact the 2013 Detroit Pershing product can sum up his strategy for attracting scholarship offers in just one word, win.
By winning you get more games each tournament, the more games the more opportunities to get recognized; and Walker is willing to do whatever it takes to win.

"I'm a competitor. I play hard every single possession. Whatever it takes to win I'll do it, I never can accept losing," Walker told MusketeerScoop.com.
The 6'5 wing has been doing everything in his power to make sure that the wins keep coming over the past two weekends with his travel team, R.E.A.C.H Legends out of Detroit.
"We played King James Shooting Stars this past weekend at their tournament in Akron. I had 34 points on them. It started off just hitting a few threes then my game just sort of opened up, I was able to get to the rim and all that."
Walker is quickly developing a reputation of one of the most dangerous streaky scorers on the AAU circuit. If he hits one shot then defenses better watch out, because more are coming. That ability to score is setting him apart from other players and turning the heads of coaches.
"I'm kind of like a left handed 'Melo (Carmelo Anthony)," Walker said, "At least that's who I try and model my game after. I can score but I also want to do other things to get my teammates involved."
Coaches from USC, Xavier, Iowa State, Bradley, Providence, and Virginia have all called Walker's AAU coach of late to discuss the junior swingman; and as of now Walker holds offers from Iowa State and Bradley.
While he is still in the early stages of his recruitment Xavier is a school that intrigues him however. "I know Jalen Reynolds personally. We played together in AAU my 9th grade year when I was playing up with the 10th graders. We're still close and he's been telling me good things about Xavier."
"I visited there my sophomore year and I thought the campus was really nice. I know that Coach Mack is a really good coach and that they're interested in me."
In front of Coach Mack this past weekend in Akron the streaky lefty shooter was scorching the nets, earning the praises of just about scout in attendance as he tallied over 20 points in three contests.
While the Musketeers have yet to extend an
offer sources say that Mack came away impressed with Walker's play over the weekend and that he will be someone that they will closely monitor in the July evaluation period.
