Myles Davis Named Rookie Of the Week

CINCINNATI --- Xavier University freshman Myles Davis has been named BIG EAST Conference Rookie of the Week. Davis scored 14 points on the strength of 4-of-5 shooting from 3-point territory in the win over Bowling Green on Dec. 7, including a team-high eight points in the overtime period.
Davis, who sat out last season and suffered an injury setback in the preseason, has bounced back to score 10.0 ppg. (tied for second on the team), including 13.2 ppg. over the last five games. Davis has hit 22 3-pointers over the first nine games. He has averaged 2.4 made 3-pointers per game, which ranks sixth in the BIG EAST.
Ryan's thoughts:
Davis has played extremely well so far. The freshman gives the Muskies an outside threat that opens up lanes for Semaj Christon to drive through to either get easy baskets or draw a foul near the rim.
Davis' shooting will be key once the Big East season schedule gets started. His outside shooting will keep teams from packing things in the paint, which will make things much easier for Stainbrook, Philmore, Farr, and Reynolds.
